Woman Injured in Davis Pedestrian Accident
YOLO COUNTY -- A pedestrian woman in Davis was tragically struck by a vehicle at about 6:40 a.m. Wednesday, The Davis Enterprise reported. The pedestrian, whose name was not released, was hit by an eastbound vehicle when she was attempting to cross Russell Boulevard near Lake Boulevard. Following the collision, the pedestrian was then taken to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento with possible head injuries.
UPDATE: According to ABC 10 News, the pedestrian woman identified as Megan Glanville, 25, died late Thursday afternoon at UC Davis Medical Center from her injuries.
Cause of the Pedestrian Accident in Davis
Based on the limited information provided by The Davis Enterprise, it is unclear what could have caused this December 21st pedestrian accident. Lt. Paul Doroshov of the Davis Police Department indicated that weather conditions were foggy at the time of the incident, but it is not evident whether the lack of visibility played a factor in the accident. The triple fatal accident was reported just north of County Road 102 just before 12:45 p.m. on August 8, 2011. Two sport utility vehicles, a jeep, a small four-door passenger car and a tractor-trailer big-rig all went up in flames.
YOLO COUNTY - A man in his 50's was hit by an Amtrak train while on the tracks at the Davis Depot Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m., reports the Sacramento Bee. The train was traveling westbound but there were no further details on how the tragic pedestrian accident occurred.
A man tragically died Sunday night at UC Davis Medical Center after he was hit by a car while attempting to cross East Street, the Daily Democrat reported. The pedestrian, who was only described as a man in his 50's, was hit by a white Chevy Cavalier heading southbound on East Street in the far west lane, between 30 and 40 mph. The driver, who was also not named, remained at the scene of the crash and was interviewed and released. The Daily Democrat reported that both the front and rear windshields of the Chevy Cavalier were shattered in the Yolo County pedestrian accident.
A Woodland man was critically injured Sunday man in an accident on Highway 113 in Yolo County, the Daily Democrat reported. The accident occurred north of County Road 25A, just before 3 p.m. The victim, Roberto Santana, 50, was a passenger in a 2004 Toyota travelling southbound in the fast lane when a 2003 Honda plowed through the median and struck the left side of the Toyota. The driver of the Toyota, Alfonso Gonzalez, 63, and passenger Maria Gonzalez, 62, suffered moderate injuries. Both were taken to UC Davis Medical Center where they were treated and released the next day. Roberto Santana remained hospitalized in critical condition. Neither the driver of the Honda, Enrique Rodriguez, 20, of Dixon, or his passenger, Carlos Rodriguez, 21, of Dixon, were injured.
