Wrongful Death Liability for Hit-and-Run Bicycle Accidents
While the investigation of this tragic accident remains ongoing, the family of the victim would be well-advised to speak to an experienced Alameda County accident lawyer. An attorney who is an avid cyclist and understands the dangers bicyclists go through everyday, can protect the family's legal rights in a wrongful death claim. If the driver that fled the accident is found, he or she can be criminally charged and may be held financially liable for the death of the victim. However, if the driver cannot be located, an attorney can help the family recover compensation through the victim's insurance, if he has one.
