Five Injured in Southeast Fresno Car Crash
FRESNO COUNTY -- A 40-year-old woman from Sanger was severely injured in a car crash just after 6 p.m. Saturday night, CBS 47 reports. According to California Highway Patrol, Jeanette Martinez was side-swiped at the intersection of Belmont and Temperance Avenue. CHP stated, the driver, whose name has not been released, hit Martinez's vehicle after running a stop sign. Following the collision, Martinez and two of three passengers in her vehicle were transported to Community Regional Medical Center for further treatment. The driver and passenger of the other vehicle were taken to CRMC with minor injuries.

SAN FRANCISCO -- A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Municipal Railway bus in San Francisco's Castro District at about 2:30 p.m. Friday, Sacramento Bee reports. Police has reported the female pedestrian was walking through a crosswalk at the intersection of 18th and Hartford when she was severely hit by a Muni bus. San Francisco police Sgt. Michael Andraychack stated that the Muni bus is a shuttle for the F-Market line and was making a left turn onto Hartford while on its way to the 17th and Market streets F-Market line stop. Andraychack also noted that the bus was not carrying any passengers during accident. According to San Francisco Fire Department spokeswoman Mindy Talmdage, the pedestrian, who believed to be between 25 to 30 years old, was removed from underneath the bus and pronounced dead at 2:45 p.m. The bus driver reported to be cooperating with the investigation and will be tested for drugs and alcohol per San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency protocol.

SACRAMENTO COUNTY-- Sabrina Carrasco, a 9-year-old Sacramento girl underwent a third surgery on Tuesday following a horrific dog attack in an apartment complex lawn area at 7718 La Mancha Way, News10 reported. Witnesses at the scene saw Carrasco playing with her teenage cousin Joandra Solis, and two toddlers before being viscously mauled by a neighbor's pit bull/labrador mix dog at about 9 p.m. Saturday. Prior to the dog attack, the pit bull/labrador escaped a fenced yard and rushed toward the girls. Solis picked up the two toddlers and told Carrasco to stay still. Frightened for her life, Carrasco tried to runaway but it was too late. Gina Knepp, spokeswoman for the Sacramento City Animal Control, reported Carrasco suffered injuries to her head, shoulder, side and back. Carrasco was taken to the University of California Medical Center at Davis to undergo further treatment.

YOLO COUNTY - Three people were killed Monday afternoon in a chain-reaction wreck on southbound Interstate 5, the Sacramento Bee and multiple other news outlets reported. The triple fatal accident was reported just north of County Road 102 just before 12:45 p.m. on August 8, 2011. Two sport utility vehicles, a jeep, a small four-door passenger car and a tractor-trailer big-rig all went up in flames.
