YOLO COUNTY - A man in his 50's was hit by an Amtrak train while on the tracks at the Davis Depot Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m., reports the Sacramento Bee. The train was traveling westbound but there were no further details on how the tragic pedestrian accident occurred.
Due to the limited amount of information available, it is impossible to determine what caused this tragic pedestrian accident. Many unanswered questions remain. Was the man not given sufficient enough warning that the train was approaching? Did the train conductor fail to see the pedestrian because he or she was distracted? Hopefully, authorities will be able to provide answers as to how this accident happened.
While this June 30th incident remains under investigation, surviving family members may benefit from talking to a northern California pedestrian accident lawyer. If the actions of the pedestrian did not contribute to the crash, the victim's family members may be able to pursue compensation from the at-fault party. A competent lawyer will use every available resource to make sure family members are not denied their legal right to full and fair compensation for funeral costs, future income, and loss of support and care.
